Corey W. Ephrussi DO, MBA
About Dr. Ephrussi
Dr. Corey Ephrussi is a rheumatologist who believes the most effective care begins with listening. His path into rheumatology started early in medical school, when working directly with patients helped him connect textbook knowledge to real people navigating complex, chronic conditions. That early experience continues to shape how he shows up for patients today, present, thoughtful, and focused on helping them regain quality of life.
CLINICAL INTERESTS AND PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Ephrussi approaches rheumatology as a partnership between physician and patient. He values understanding each person’s unique situation and tailoring treatment to the right condition at the right time. His goal is not just disease control, but helping patients return to living fully, with care plans that reflect both medical evidence and individual needs.
BACKGROUND AND TRAINING
Dr. Ephrussi has served patients in the Greenville area since 2018. Prior to joining Piedmont Arthritis Clinic, he held the role of Chief of Rheumatology at Prisma Health and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, a Master of Business Administration from The George Washington University School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Lee University. He completed his internal medicine residency at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center and his rheumatology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital.
IN THE CLINIC AND BEYOND
Patients often share that they appreciate Dr. Ephrussi’s willingness to listen and the genuine human connection he brings to each visit. He works hard to individualize treatment plans and is deeply committed to helping patients see improvement over time. Staying current in a rapidly evolving field is a priority for him, and he regularly engages with medical literature and colleagues to refine his approach and deliver up-to-date care.
