At Piedmont Arthritis Clinic, we offer on-site bone density testing with our full-body Bone Densitometer. Bone density testing most often is used to diagnose Osteoporosis, a condition that often affects women after menopause but may also be found in men.

Osteoporosis involves a gradual loss of calcium, as well as structural changes, causing the bones to become thinner, more fragile and more likely to break.

The examination is performed with a patient lying on the densitometer table while the scanner makes a single pass overhead. High-quality scans are available immediately offering accurate point-of-care assessments.
